Young Nigerians returning home from studies abroad are blazing a trail with the establishment of companies meant to service a growing middle class in the West African country. Ngozi Dozie and his brother Chijioke set up a coffee shop in the commercial city Lagos. Being the first of its kind, Cafe Neo attracts a large number of customers. But the brothers say they face many challenges, as Nigerians are not traditionally coffee drinkers.
Nigeria is widely known as a tea-drinking nation but that trend could soon change as coffee vendors begin to inch into Africa's most populous beverage market. A huge lot of Nigerian middle class who have travelled abroad are returning home with a shift in taste, and are turning to coffee creating with it a whole new market.
